I have a bunch of stuff I don’t want/need anymore in a box here in the apartment, so today I went just a bit crazy giving stuff away on the St. Louis ReUseIt group. I’m very happy! Excess stuff is excess clutter. I also sold an item on eBay. It will be so nice to get things out of here I don’t need.

This group used to be a Freecycle group, but has since changed. I still love it. I got my couch from this group. Between ReUseIt and Gigoit, I’ve been able to get things I really needed (like a couch and a printer) and get rid of things I don’t need (like my first bowling ball and an MP3 CD player I’ve had since high school).

So if you find yourself surrounded by clutter (anything from impulse purchases to terrible gifts to things you’re just tired of), check out these groups and see what’s available. You can also give away or sell things on Craigslist if you so choose. Whichever route you take, decluttering in a giving, eco-friendly way is easy with the help of the internet. And, of course, you can search these networks to get items you need, too!
